There is a School Board Meeting Monday, September 13 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria at Ash Creek. One of the items on the agenda is changes to the meeting format, particularly the public comments portion of each meeting. For more information on the proposed changes see the post entitiled "August 18th Worksession" below. Come make your views known - it may be your last chance to speak publicly at a Board meeting!
There's another blogger talking about some of the same stuff.

There are issues raised in this new blog that I have not been able to discuss here. I cannot/will not discuss things that I first learned about as confidential personnel matters while I was a Board member, even when they are also matters of public record. I know the district is blaming me for this information coming out and I would like to set the record straight. I have been contacted by several individuals over the past weeks who wanted me to discuss this issue on my blog and I told each of them that I could not. They approached me with information they had acquired from other sources, mainly internet searches. They did not get it from me. I met the new blogger for the first time at the Board meeting last night. Our previous contact had been a couple of email exchanges in which he had asked me to publish the information he had found and then asked me the procedures for speaking at a Board meeting. And yes, I did warn him that the Board would not hear complaints against individuals in open session. I am not a "puppet-master." There are many people in the community who are asking questions and digging for information. We are all capable of assessing the situation and drawing our own conclusions. We don't always agree with one another but we are united in our conviction that serious changes need to be made in the way our district operates. That is what is happening now and I, for one, think that it is a good thing.

ReplyDeleteI hope the community appreciates your professionlism. I agree that many are united in that our school district is in need of serious change. This can only happen if the community steps up and communicates their concerns to the Central School Board. If they are not willing to listen and make changes in the best interest of our children then we need to consider recalling those who are not doing their job.
