Why would the Board offer someone a three year perpetual contract after that same someone recieved a vote of no confidence from 90% of his staff? It was adopted by a vote of 4 to3. Board members Stoops, Hamilton, Ramirez, and Plude voted in favor of this contract; Board members Evans, Zehner, and Shellenbarger voted against.
Was Evans present? My understanding is that he doesn't attend many meetings. Maybe he should be removed and replaced by someone who will really fight for the community?
ReplyDeleteYes, he was present at this particular meeting and asked lots of questions about the process of terminating the contract. He also voiced support for the superintendent and said he hoped he would continue to lead the district into the future.
ReplyDeleteBoard members should look at a Supt's W-2 (if that would be legal), and they would see other stipends (mileage, cell phone) included to the vacation payoff, as well as a district paid annuity. Past Supt's have been given whatever they request when they leave. Plus the reimbursements mention, it gets much worse.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything in this document about his mileage stipend, cell phone stipend, district paid annuity, and other reimbursements. And on the vacation payout schedule in another section, he was received a payout of 7-1-09, the first day of a contract, before he even worked a day. Shouldn't the public be privvy to all the things this man is paid for?
ReplyDeleteAfter a vote of "no confidence" a three year contract sounds more like a golden parachute to me. Didn't they pass a law on that? Maybe not, but I think Dr. Hunter just covered his butt. Shame on you Dr. Hunter, if you have any integrity, you would have requested a one year contract with a promise that you would improve your standing with your employees, and if you had, then request additional years.
